- Research shows that children are most likely to commit or be the victims of crime between 3 and 6 pm. in other words -- the after-school hours.
- Only 6% of our children are in after-school programs
You can support the growth and success of after school programs.

2.) Volunteer your time:
School tutoring programs and after school programs use volunteer help.
- Call a city school and ask what volunteer options are available during and after school. Go to:. www.RCSDK12.org for more information.
- Many Faith-based groups are very involved in educational support programs. Call your own or a neighborhood church or temple and find out what programs they can refer you to. You usually do not have to be a member to participate in these programs as a volunteer.

Volunteers work at after-school Teen Centers at several branches where computers are available. for teen use
Other offerings such as reading a story hour with younger children are available at some sites.
